Shakespeare’s Haiku
    for Accordion

       Notes by the composer Lee McClure:
The basis of my “Shakespeare’s Haiku” are his lines from Sonnet 73:
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.

Now 76 years of age, I do not shy away from the twilight of my years.
And in Shakespeare’s words from Sonnet 73:
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

Bill Schimmel and I have been performing together for more than 27 years.
